(Eastlake, OH) -Erik Gonzalez hit a one out double in the fifth inning and Leonardo Castillo scored all the way from first base to give the Captains a 3-2 lead. That score turned out to be the Final score. With the win the Captains improved to (14-25) on the season and Fort Wayne fell to (24-16) on the season.

Lake County scored one run in the bottom of the first inning. Dorssys Paulino reached on an error by the shortstop and scored on a single by Richard Stock. The score was 1-0 Lake County headed to the second inning. In the second Lake County added on. Jorge Martinez tripled to right field and scored when the relay throw skipped into the TinCaps dugout. The score was 2-0 Captains.

The TinCaps tied the game in the top of the fourth inning. Jeremy Baltz tripled to right field and scored on a Luis Tejada triple. Diego Goris hit a grounder to second base and Tejada scored to tie the ballgame at 2-2.

Saturday was the quickest nine inning game of the season at Classic Park. It took just two hours and two minutes to play. The attendance was 6,490 which was the first sellout of the season and it was the largest crowd of the season.

LHP Ryan Merritt (2-3) started for the Captains. Merritt went seven innings and allowed two runs on seven hits and he fanned seven. Merritt got the win. Francisco Valera entered in the eighth inning and pitched a scoreless inning. Louis Head entered in the ninth inning and picked up his second save of the season.

Fort Wayne sent RHP Ruben Mejia (2-4) to the mound. Mejia took the loss. Mejia pitched five innings, he allowed five hits, three runs and one earned, he walked one and struck out two. Bryan Rodriguez pitched three innings and allowed two hits, one walk and one strikeout.

Sunday is a Family Fun Sunday, presented by the Lake County YMCA, featuring a pre-game player autograph session, concourse entertainment and activities, the Kids' Zone area and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. All kids in attendance will receive a Captains activities book and crayons, presented by the YMCA and Lake County Job and Family Services.

Also on Sunday the Captains will host a special post-Mother's Day celebration. For $29 Moms will receive a ticket to the game, a drink ticket that may be used towards a drink of her choice, access to The Officers Club where there will be assorted fruit, cheese and crackers, massages, manicure, pedicures and a rose. Mom's name will also be entered into a raffle to win gift baskets, free massages, haircuts and manicures.

The Captains Annual "Battle of the Robobots" will take place during Sunday's game. Sparks and metal shrapnel will fly from the bots in one-on-one battles of three minutes or less - awarding the last bot standing bragging rights as 'king of the ring.' The Battle will take place in the left field picnic area.

Lake County will start RHP Michael Peoples (1-2, 2.82) and Fort Wayne will counter with RHP Walker Weickel (0-1, 3.76). The third game of the four game series will begin at 1:30 PM.
