Tampa Bay Recalls Riku Helenius from Florida

Syracuse, NY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled goaltender Riku Helenius from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, Syracuse Crunch GM Julien BriseBois announced today.

Helenius, 25, appeared in five games with the Crunch this season with a 2-3-0-0 record to go along with a 3.43 goals allowed average and .875 save percentage. Helenius has appeared in one game for the Everblades since being reassigned on Dec. 31. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound netminder also played in 32 Crunch games during the 2012-13 season but did not appear during the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs. The Palkane, Finland native was drafted in the first round, 15th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
