Tallackson Recalled; Pihlman Returned

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats announced today that right wing Barry Tallackson has been recalled by the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. The team also announced that left wing Tuomas Pihlman has been re-assigned to Albany by the Devils.

Tallackson, 22, totaled 12 (4-8) points in 16 games for the River Rats during the 2005-06 campaign. He notched one goal and one assist with a minus one rating in the first six games of his NHL career earlier this season, making his NHL debut against the Washington Capitals on November 12th. Tallackson scored his first NHL goal and assist against the Ottawa Senators on November 19th. The North Dakota native was New Jersey's second choice (53rd overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Pihlman, 22, recorded one goal and one assist with a minus one rating in 11 games for New Jersey during the 2005-06 season. He scored his first NHL goal on November 30th against the Philadelphia Flyers after notching his first NHL point (assist) on November 23rd against the Florida Panthers. The Espoo, Finland native posted nine (5-4) points in 10 games for the River Rats earlier this season. He was originally drafted by New Jersey with their third choice (48th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Albany River Rats, owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., are in their 13th American Hockey League campaign and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
