December 10, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers come to call along HERSHEYPARK Drive Saturday night as the BEARS look for the club's 17th win of the season against just four regulation losses.

Friday night at Binghamton, HERSHEY picked up points on the road for the 10th consecutive game in defeating the Senators 6-4. Kirk Daubenspeck won his fifth game of the season, and the BEARS picked up two short-handed goals in the process. The win gave HERSHEY 38 points overall in 2005-06, tying the club with the 1996-97 team for most points piled up after 26 regular season games. Only the 1946-47 club (40 points) had more points through 26 games than the 2005-06 squad.

The BEARS defeated Bridgeport this past Wednesday 4-1 at the Arena at Harbor Yard, and look tonight for the club's third consecutive win this season without defeat against the Sound Tigers. The Sound Tigers feature former BEARS forwards Travis Brigley and David Masse on its 2005-06 roster.

With a win in Binghamton Friday night coupled with a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton regulation loss at home to Manitoba 3-1, the BEARS begin play tonight just five points back of first place in the East Division standings. The loss for the Penguins Friday night was the team's first of the season in regulation play.

Tonight's game can be seen in central Pennsylvania on WHTM-TV (ABC-27) with John Walton and Gregg Mace with the call of the action. Scott Bradley from WQIC-FM and John Sparenberg have the call on radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:40 p.m. Tickets also remain for both tonight's game and tomorrow's 5:00 p.m. start with Bridgeport by calling (717) 508-BEAR or by visiting the GIANT Center box office.
