KENT - Logan Flodell made 23 saves Sunday night to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Kelowna Rockets at ShoWare Center.

Flodell made eight saves in the first and third periods and seven saves in the second period. It was the first career WHL shutout for Flodell as he improved his record to 14-11-3-0.

Seattle (27-19-3-0) took a 1-0 lead at 11:51 of the first period on Ryan Gropp's 24th goal of the season. Ethan Bear took a slap shot from the right point that rebounded off the end boards to Gropp at the right of the goal. Gropp got the puck and tucked it past Kelowna goalie Michael Herringer at the right post. Mathew Barzal had the second assist.

Seattle outshot Kelowna 17-8 in the first period.

The T-Birds took a 2-0 lead at 9:43 of the second period on an unassisted goal from Bryan Allbee. The goal came off a long scramble in front of Herringer. All three forwards were in the crease battling for the puck. Allbee came down from the left point and popped the loose puck over the goalie for his sixth goal of the season.

The T-Birds outshot the Rockets 10-7 in the second period and led 27-15 in total shots after two periods.

The Rockets pulled Herringer with two minutes to go in the game to try and get on the board. Flodell made several big saves to keep the Rockets from scoring.

The T-Birds ended the game outshooting the Rockets 43-23 in the game.

Herringer made 41 saves on 43 shots and his record is 15-7-1-0.
