Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Calgary, AB. - Playing their third game in as many days, the Brandon Wheat Kings fell short Sunday afternoon in Calgary.

In what was a penalty filled affair at the Scotiabank Saddledome, the hometown Hitmen doubled up on Brandon 6-3.

Jackson Houck scored twice and set up another as the Hitmen ran their win streak to three games.

Kale Clague, Tim McGauley and Duncan Campbell scored in a losing cause for the Wheat Kings, who saw their lead atop the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division trimmed to six points as the second place Raiders lost an overtime decision in Swift Current.

The two teams combined for nineteen powerplay chances, including five 5-on-3's and 118 minutes in penalties.

Calgary chased Wheat Kings' starting netminder Logan Thompson eight minutes into this one as the 18-year old rookie surrendered three goals on 8 shots.

Brandon will take a 31-15-2-2 record into Tuesday's game against the Warriors in Moose Jaw.

Tuesday's game will end a stretch of seven straight road games for the Wheat Kings, who will return home to host Prince George and Medicine Hat on Friday and Saturday nights.

Tickets to both games are on sale at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at keystonecentre.com.
