Szydlowski Called up to AHL Rochester

Forward Shawn Szydlowski has been called up to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Szydlowski earned three points (one goal, two assists) in six games with the Gladiators after he was assigned to Gwinnett on February 16th. The St. Clair Shores, Michigan Native has earned eight points, all assists, in 38 AHL games this season with Rochester. He also appeared in two games with Portland Pirates at the conclusion of the 2010-11 season but did not register a point.

The 6-foot, 208-pound forward skated four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League witht the Erie Otters where he earned 197 points in 258 career OHL games. Szydlowski has an OHL career best 78 points in the 2010-11 season with Erie to rank 3rd in scoring on the Otters.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
