Tonight's Matchup:
The Express look to get back on track against the Toledo Walleye tonight, and with a win can leap into seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Express and the Walleye have not met up in over a month, with the last matchup between the sides on January 27 in Toledo. After facing off four times in the first month of the year, Chicago and Toledo have met just four times over the last three months. The Express won each of the first three games against the Walleye to start the season, but Toledo has dominated the series since then, rattling off six straight against Chicago. The Express sit just one point behind Cincinnati and Florida in the Eastern Conference standings, and with both of those teams in active tonight, a Chicago win will boost them back into a playoff spot.
Express Notes:
Chicago earned at least one point (and five the possible six) in all three games last weekend. They are now 3-0-0-1 in their last four games... The Express will be without their two leading scorers tonight, as LW Chad Painchaud and RW Tyler Donati are both on the IR... F Ryley Grantham recorded his first two-goal game as a member of the Express on Sunday. He has at least one point in four of the five games he has played with Chicago... D Taylor Ellington joined the Express on Monday and is expected to make his debut tonight.
Recent Transactions:
D Brett Motherwell was placed on the 3-IR yesterday... RW Tyler Donati was transferred to the 3-IR yesterday... LW Chad Painchaud was transferred to the 21-day IR yesterday... D Taylor Ellington was assigned to Chicago by Columbus yesterday... G Tom Schaul was released as an Emergency Backup Goaltender on Sunday... G Allen York was assigned to Chicago by Columbus on Thursday.
