Countdown to Face-Off

Tonight is the first of three straight contests between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Florida Everblades. The teams split the previous two encounters of the season at Wings Stadium, the K-Wings winning the last encounter 2-1 in overtime back on November 26th.

Starting a three-game road trip this evening, the K-Wings head into the Germain Arena looking to snap a three- game losing streak. With a record of 1-4-0-1 in their last six games, Kalamazoo's lead in the North Division has shrunk to just six points over the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Unbeaten in regulation in their last five home games (4-0-1-0), the Everblades are poised to commence a three-game home stand. With 60 points, Florida is in fourth place in the South Division and are eighth place overall in the Eastern Conference.

Ellington Dealt at NHL Trade Deadline

Defenseman Taylor Ellington was traded on Monday at the NHL Deadline as part of the deal that sent Sami Pahlsson from Columbus Blue Jackets to the Vancouver Canucks. Ellington will now be a member of the Blue Jackets, which includes their affiliates in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons and ECHL with the Chicago Express.
