Switchbacks FC Fall on the Road to RGV

Edinburg, Texas - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC fell 3-0 on the road to Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday night.

Coming off of back to back wins at Weidner Field, the Switchbacks were looking to keep the good results going on the road. The first half saw each team produce a good chance as Jordan Burt had a header saved off the line and Romilio Hernandez from RGV had his effort from distance come back off the crossbar. The hosts would get on the board first after Wilmer Cabrera got on the end of a deflected cross and fired his shot into the back of the net. RGV doubled their lead from Carlos Small's penalty kick 16 minutes from full time. Small blasted a cross high into the net to extend the lead to 3-0 for RGV to close out the game on Saturday night.

The Switchbacks' return to Weidner Field on June 22nd as the Real Monarchs SLC come to town on Summer Fireworks and T-shirt Giveaway Night. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free Switchbacks t-shirt courtesy of Colorado Technical University. Full 16oz beers will be available for $1 for the first 30 minutes after gates open at 6:00 PM. Tickets start at just $12 and are available HERE. For the price of a Switchbacks ticket and 2-5 beers, it is cheaper than buying 2-5 beers at a bar or restaurant.
