
Tulsa Roughnecks Fall to El Paso Locomotive 0-2

TULSA, OK- The Tulsa Roughnecks played host to the El Paso Locomotive FC on Saturday, June 15th at ONEOK Field. The Tulsa Roughnecks were looking to defend their home turf in their first match ever with El Paso Locomotive FC.
The match began with El Paso Locomotive FC dominating possession, but the Tulsa Roughnecks absorbed the pressure keeping most of that possession in the El Paso Locomotive FC half. After a spell of possession and attacking play by the Tulsa Roughnecks, El Paso Locomotive FC got out on a counter attack. Omar Salgado found himself wide with the ball, dribbled to the byline and pulled it back for Sebastian Contreras tuck away the cross in the 37th minute. The half-finished with El Paso Locomotive FC leading 1-0.
The second half began with the Tulsa Roughnecks looking to establish more possession than in the first half. They were patient with possession, but the half started slow for each side. In the 61stminute, Sean Lewis had an incredible point blank save off a Jerome Kiessewetter header. In the 75th minute, Sebastian Conteras was tripped up in the box by Rodrigo Da Costa to give El Paso Locomotive FC a PK. Jerome Kiesewetter smashed the PK into the upper right corner, doubling the El Paso Locomotive FC lead. The Tulsa Roughnecks looked to push back the remaining 15 minutes, but were unlucky and the match ended at 2-0 for El Paso Locomotive FC.
The Tulsa Roughnecks travel to Sacramento for their next match June 22nd, but then are back at ONEOK Field against the Real Monarchs June 29that 7:30pm.
