Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Beloit won its second straight over Cedar Rapids, 5-1 tonight at Pohlman Field. Snappers starting pitcher Anthony Swarzak went eight innings, striking out 13 Kernels and limiting them to two hits and an unearned run. At one point in the game Swarzak retired six straight batters on his way to improving to 5-2 on the season. Beloit scored a run in the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. Cedar Rapids tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth. Dwayne White lead off the seventh with a home run to give the Snappers a 2-1 lead. Deacon Burns added two insurance runs with his home run in the bottom of the eighth. Beloit tacked on a third run in the inning to win 5-1.
