Swarm Hold off BayHawks in Front of Capacity Crowd

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, prevailed, 112-110, in a thriller over the Erie BayHawks on Saturday at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The Swarm (18-17), winners in six of its last seven games, were led by three 20-point scorers (Joe Chealey - 25 points; Jaylen Barford - 22; Sam Thompson - 22).

Jaylen Barford put the Swarm up, 112-108, with 1:32 left in the game. Erie (17-16) pulled within a possession, 112-110, on a Terrence Jones dunk with just 28.5 second remaining. The BayHawks had a last chance heave at half court as time expired from Jaylen Morris after a Chinanu Onuaku miss, but the ball bounced off the iron to secure the Greensboro victory.

Barford and Onuaku both a double-double in the game. Barford pulled down 12 rebounds to go with his 22 points. Onuaku had 11 rebounds with his 17 points. Chealey nearly had one himself, finishing the game with nine assist with 25 points.

The BayHawks starting five all scored in double figures, paced by Jordan Sibert's 22 points. Alex Poythress had 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double; both Craig Sword and Morris chipped in 13 points and Terrence Jones added 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Swarm start a five-game road trip with the Grand Rapids Drive on Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET.
