Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, announced several transactions today. Goaltender Brandon Halverson has been reassigned by the New York Rangers to the Swamp Rabbits from the Hartford Wolf Pack. Greenville has also made a trade with the Atlanta Gladiators, dealing forward Branden Troock in exchange for future considerations. Finally, Greenville has released defenseman Vytal Cote from the roster.

Halverson rejoins the Swamp Rabbits after making his NHL debut on Feb. 17, 2018 with the New York Rangers. The 2014 Rangers draft pick logged 22 games in Greenville to begin the season and was promoted to the AHL on Jan. 20. The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds product was sixth in the ECHL with 702 saves at the time of his call-up and posted a 7-11-2-0 record, 3.87 goals against average, and .900 save percentage.

Halverson has played in five AHL games with the Wolf Pack this season and made 164 saves. The goaltender last saw action on Feb. 25, making 36 saves against the Providence Bruins. In two seasons the Traverse City, Michigan native has played 31 games and earned a 10-20-0 record, 3.42 goals against average, and .890 save percentage.

Troock last suited up for the Swamp Rabbits on Jan. 13 but has missed the last 20 games due to injury. The winger began the year as one of the league's dynamic scorers, posting 33 points in his first 26 games. Troock cooled off in his last nine contests with Greenville, logging four points (2G, 2A). The Edmonton, Alberta native has tallied 53 points (26G, 27A) in 63 career ECHL games since 2014. The 2012 Dallas Stars pick also boasts 119 AHL games with 37 points (13G, 24A).

Cote was acquired from the Adirondack Thunder on Feb. 10 but played only five games for Greenville since then. The blue liner has played 31 games in the ECHL and logged one assist and 62 PIMS. The 6-foot-2 Hollywood, Florida native has played 60 SPHL games since turning pro in 2016 and tallied 17 points (5G, 12A) in addition to 82 PIMS.
