
Suns Win, 9-6, in Series Finale with Lexington

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Hagerstown Suns (69-52) defeated the Lexington Legends (51-70), 9-6, Wednesday night at Municipal Stadium in front of 3,021 fans. Stephen Strasburg made his third rehabilitation start but did not factor into the decision.
The Legends scored three runs off Strasburg in the first with an RBI double by Tyler Burnett, an RBI single by Domingo Santana and an RBI double by Telvin Nash. Hagerstown answered in the bottom of the frame when Kevin Keyes hit a three-run home run off Luis Cruz (3-3), tying the game at three.
Strasburg struck out the first batter he faced in the second before surrendering a double and issuing a walk to put two on. He struck out the next batter before exiting the game in favor of Sam Brown. A two-RBI single by Santana scored both runners before a groundout ended the inning. Strasburg allowed five runs on four hits and two walks over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
An RBI double by Michael Taylor plated one for the Suns in the second before a two-RBI triple by Adrian Sanchez gave them a 6-5 advantage after two innings.
Doug Slaten took the mound in the third for the Suns, making his second rehabilitation appearance in Hagerstown. He faced the minimum and recorded one strikeout. The Suns added two runs in the bottom of the third with a two-RBI triple by Taylor, increasing the lead to 8-5.
Paul Applebee (7-2) entered in the fourth for Hagerstown and threw four scoreless innings before surrendering a solo home run to Nash in the eighth. The Suns answered again, adding a run on an error to cap the scoring at 9-6.
Applebee earned the win, allowing one run on three hits, striking out five. Cruz took the loss, surrendering eight runs, five earned, on 11 hits and two walks, striking out six.
