With the Suns win on Saturday night over the West Virginia Power, coupled with Lexington's loss at Lake County, the Suns moved into a tie with Lexington atop the South Atlantic League standings. One game remains in the season's first half. The 1st place team at the end of the first half receives an automatic playoff spot this September.
A number of scenarios can play out on Sunday ranging from a Suns out-right 1st half championship, a tie between the Suns and the Lexington Legends, a three way tie for first with the Legends and Lake County Captains, or an outright first-half championship for the Legends should they win and the Suns lose.
The Suns play host to West Virginia tomorrow, Father's Day, with the game slated to begin at 1:35pm. The Legends play at Lake County beginning at 2:05pm.
In addition to the playoff-like atmostphere, Suns fans will be treated to another free baseball cap giveaway, courtesy of NBC25 and Susquehanna Bank. Sundays also feature pre-game Story Time with the Suns, Kids Run the Bases (post-game) and a special Father's Day Play-Catch-on-Field after the game. Plus, don't forget, each Sunday all fans will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone thanks to Maugansville Creamery.
Fans, come out to the ballpark and cheer on your Hagerstown Suns to victory and AT LEAST a share of the first-half championship! Gates to Municipal Stadium open at 12:35pm with the Suns ticket office opening at Noon. In case you can't attend the season's most exciting game, catch the game action on the Suns radio flagship station, WHAG 1410am.
