Wichita, KS- Wichita exploded for five goals in the third period including two from Thomas Beauregard as the Thunder (21-8-2) blew past the Tulsa Oilers (16-12-3) with a 6-2 win Saturday night in front of 6,410 fans at INTRUST Bank Arena. In the third period, the flood gates opened as a tight game turned into a run-a-away. Daniel Tetrault (6) made it 2-1 with a one-time blast past Tulsa goalie Mike Garman at 3:24. Tulsa's Jason Weeks tied the game at two at 5:02, but Wichita answered 27 seconds later when Thomas Beauregard (16) snuck in past the Tulsa defense, caught a long-lead pass from RG Flath and scored on a break-away to make it 3-2. He scored his second of the game at 12:14 when he blasted a one-timer past Garman to make it 4-2. Several players kept scoring streaks alive as Beauregard and Matt Summers extended their point scoring streaks to six games each. The Thunder continue to lead the league in points (44) and the best record on home ice (15-3-0).

Wichita also scored five goals in one period back on October 28th at the BOK Center against Tulsa as Wichita won that game as well, 6-2. The Thunder and the Oilers still play each other twice more, with the next meeting on January 28th at INTRUST Bank Arena.
