Tri-City Americans News Release

The Tri-City Americans put on one of their best performances of the season on Friday, but ultimately fell 6-4 to the Seattle Thunderbirds at the Toyota Center.

Ethan Mittelsteadt opened scoring 3:17 into the game to give the Thunderbirds a 1-0 lead.

Jake Sloan followed six minutes later as deflected a shot from Petr Moravec in front of the net, capitalizing on a power play opportunity.

Seattle replied late in the period with their own power play goal scored by Conner Roulette to regain the lead before heading into the first intermission.

Matthew Rempe and Jared Davidson scored to extend Seattle's lead to 3-0 by mid-second period.

The Americans replied with a pair of goals from Parker Bell and Sam Huo to put the Americans back within one.

Huo's goal marks the 30th of his career. He has officially doubled the number of total career goals he had coming into this season.

Davidson netted his second of the night, and eventual game-winner, seconds into the final period. Seattle held their 5-3 lead for most of the frame.

Sloan kept the Americans in the game as he scored from the left circle after a shot from Chase Friedt-Mohr bounced off the post.

Davidson completed a hat trick with an empty net goal for the Thunderbirds.

Nick Avakyan played in net for the Americans, turning aside 27/32 shots faced.

Score: 6-4 Seattle

Shots: 37-32 Tri-City
