Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (26-35-3-2) host the Winnipeg ICE (52-10-3-2) on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.
These two clubs met last night at the Brandt Centre, as Winnipeg defeated Regina, 6-1. The ICE led 5-0 after one period of play, which turned out to be the difference in the game. Kelton Pyne gave up four goals on nine shots, and Spencer Welke came in, stopping 12 of 14.
Braxton Whitehead scored the lone goal for the Pats. The Pats went 1-for-6 on their power play and 1-for-2 on their penalty kill. Final shots were 23-22 for Winnipeg.
The Pats are still two points out of a playoff spot after the Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Swift Current Broncos last night in the Broncos final game of the season. The Raiders are now tied for eighth in the Eastern Conference standings with 59 points with one game left, which goes tonight against the Brandon Wheat Kings. The Calgary Hitmen, who are sitting in 10th with 58 points, take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday for their final game of the season. Here's a look at the updated Eastern Conference standings:

Winnipeg has clinched first place in the WHL and will have home ice advantage in the playoffs. The ICE are riding a three game winning-streak and have won 16 of their last 17 games, while recording at least a point in 20 of their last 21 games.

Benjamin Zloty extended his point-streak to seven games with an assist, while Geekie, Smallwood, Zach Benson, Evan Friesen, Mikey Milne and Connor McClennon found the back of the net.
