Arkansas Travelers News Release
North Little Rock, AR - Levi Stoudt pitched six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts and no walks in earning a win as the Arkansas Travelers emerged victorious over the Springfield Cardinals, 3-2, on Thursday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. Springfield's only tally against Stoudt was a solo home run by Moises Gomez. Cade Marlowe and Zach DeLoach had two hits each for the Travs. After Stoudt's six innings, David Ellingson, Devin Sweet and Travs Kuhn each worked an inning to close out the game.
Moments That Mattered
* Arkansas broke a tie scoring twice in the sixth inning. Tanner Kirwer's base hit put the Travs on top. Then with two out, a check swing infield hit by Matt Scheffler scored an insurance run.
* Springfield had runners at the corners with one out in the eighth when Tanner Kirwer made a sliding catch in shallow right field on a bloop off the bat of Delvin Perez. A runner did score from third making it a sacrifice fly but the sensational catch stalled the Cardinal threat.
* The Cardinals again threatened in the ninth. With a runner on, Todd Lott hit a groundball single into center field but Cade Marlowe threw out the pinch-runner trying to go first to third for the second out of the inning.
