SAN ANTONIO - Thursday night saw the return of the Flying Chanclas de San Antonio and the fans were treated another exciting night at The Wolff. After trailing through most of the game, the Chanclas pulled ahead in the sixth inning. However, the eighth inning saw Frisco score runs to secure a 6-3 victory.

Osvaldo Hernandez made his second start of the season for the Flying Chanclas. In his first start on opening night, he recorded just one out while allowing seven runs. Tonight, he struck out the side. However, he did still allow one earned run. After walking Jonathan Ornelas, Ezequiel Duran hit a double down the left field line to score Ornelas. Frisco took an early 1-0 lead.

Hernandez ran into some more trouble in the second inning. Despite striking out two more batters, he allowed a second run to score. He surrendered walks to Kellen Strahm and Jordan Procyshen and then J.P. Martinez drove in Strahm with a single to center field. Hernandez, after throwing 52 pitches in the first two innings, was relieved by Moises Lugo heading into the third inning

The Flying Chanclas began their comeback effort in the third inning. Tirso Ornelas led off the inning with a base hit and advanced to second base after Chris Givin drew a walk. Esteury Ruiz drove in Ornelas after hitting a single to center field. The Flying Chanclas cut the lead in half heading into the fourth inning.

It was in the fourth inning when the Chanclas plated their second run of the game and tied things up at two apiece. Brandon Dixon started the inning with a triple to right-center field. Dixon quickly came around to score after the following batter, Mitch Walding, drove him in on a ground ball to first base.

Moises Lugo was dominant for the Chanclas as he tossed 2.2 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He was pulled in the fifth inning after allowing a walk and a single. Nolan Watson came out to pitch and recorded the third out of the inning and ended the scoring threat to keep the game tied.

San Antonio captured their first lead of the night in the bottom of the sixth inning. Esteury Ruiz was hit by a pitch and followed that up by stealing second base. Korry Howell drew a walk to put two runners on base with no outs. After executing a double steal, Dixon drove in Ruiz with a sacrifice fly to give the Chanclas a 3-2 lead.

Carlos Belen pitched the eighth inning for the Flying Chanclas and immediately faced a tricky situation. Belen allowed a lead-off double off the bat of Ezequiel Duran. Following a strikeout, Sandro Fabian drew a walk to put two runners on base. Duran came around to score after a fielding from Howell as he was attempting to field a ground ball. After recording a strikeout for out number two, Jordan Procyshen provided an impactful three-run home run to make it a 6-3 Frisco lead.
