Storm Assigned Evan McGrath From Grand Rapids

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that they have been assigned forward Evan McGrath (Mick-GRATH) from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. In addition, the Storm announced that they have released forward James Tudor.

McGrath, the Detroit Red Wings fourth round selection (#128 overall) and their second pick in the 2004 NHL draft, joins the Storm after skating most of the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins. While with the Griffins, McGrath netted three goals and added three assists while compiling 23 PIM in 33 games. The rookie from Oakville, Ontario, played his amateur days with the OHL's Kitchener Rangers. A year ago, McGrath tallied 114 points (37 G, 77 A) in 67 games with the Rangers, which led the team and ranked him 5th among all OHL players.

Tudor appeared in 8 games with Toledo following his signing on December 29th. James did not register a point in those contests.

Toledo will return home on January 19th when they will once again battle the Cyclones at 7:35pm.
