Dayton, OH- The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL announced today that the Bombers mascot, "Bucky the Flying Squirrel" ,will be at Riverscape Metroparks in downtown Dayton, this Saturday, January 20, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. to help raise money for the Artemis Center of Dayton.
The Artemis Center and Five Rivers MetroParks will host an evening of skating under the stars. Half of every $5 admission fee (which includes skates if necessary) will be donated y Five Rivers MetroParks to the Artemis Center to provide critically needed services to unsheltered domestic violence victims and their children.
This will be the first annual "Lace Up Your Skates Against Domestic Violence" event. The Artemis Center has been Dayton's domestic violence resource center for the past 21 years. Their mission is to lead the community in its commitment to end domestic violence by providing early intervention, supportive services, legal advocacy and support groups.
If by chance the weather does not cooperate, the make up date for this event will be Saturday, January 27. For more information about the event call 278-2607 or 531-5725. The Bombers return to the Nutter Center on Tuesday, January 23, at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Wheeling Nailers. Tuesday's game with be the second of eight 2 for Tuesdays sponsored by Prestige Ford. All silver level tickets will be 2 for 1 and can be purchased at the Nutter Center box office. Fans can also get 2 for 1 hot dogs, pretzels and popcorn at the concession stands. Great season ticket locations and sponsorship opportunities are still available! Individual game tickets are on sale now.
