Ice Pilots forward Rob Rankin gets two assists at All-Star Game

BOISE, ID - Pensacola Ice Pilots' forward Rob Rankin set up two goals to pace the American Conference to a 6-3 triumph over the National Conference at the RBK Hockey ECHL All-Star Game in Boise, Idaho on Wednesday night.
The game was played in front of 4,371 fans at Quest Arena and featured fast skating and solid goaltending by both teams.
After a 1-1 tie through the first 20 minutes, the American Conference went to work in the second with three goals. Rankin's assists helped to break open a close 2-1 game at the time. He set up the third goal that was scored by Ken Magowan of the Toledo Storm and the fourth by Colton Fretter of the Gwinnett Gladiators.
It was 4-1 American Conference going into the final frame when the National Conference attempted a comeback by scoring two goals to narrow the margin to 4-3. However, the American Conference added two late goals, including one into an empty net to seal the victory.
Dayton Bombers' Goaltender Adam Berkhoel was chosen the Most Valuable Player of the Game.
Rob Rankin and the Ice Pilots return to play after the All-Star break this weekend when they host the Texas Wildcatters on Friday and Saturday at The Hangar at 7:05 pm. The Ice Pilots will visit the Wildcatters in Beaumont, Texas on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm central time.
On Friday night, Superfan will be in attendance to entertain the fans and giveaway t-shirts, while on Saturday it's Iceman's Birthday Celebration with games and activities to partake in.
