Salmon Kings announce webcast

Victoria Salmon Kings News Release


Victoria, BC- The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the ECHL, have announced that they will broadcast the remainder of their home games via the internet through B2 Networks. The Salmon Kings will provide a pay-per-view video broadcast and free audio broadcast starting January 19th.

Games can typically be accessed approximately ten minutes before faceoff and are purchased on a game-by-game basis for a cost of $6.00 (U.S.). Fans can access the broadcast through the Salmon Kings website (www.salmonkings.com).

In addition, the Victoria Salmon Kings welcome Mike Walker as the Director of Broadcasting for home games. He also assists with Salmon Kings community events.

A native of Victoria, Mike graduated from Lambrick Park Secondary as valedictorian in 2006, and comes to the club with a wealth of experience in his young career. Prior to joining the club, Mike has written numerous articles for Vancouver-based Youthlink Magazine, served as public address announcer for both the 2006 B.C. Junior Men's Baseball Provincial Championships and the 2006 Canadian PeeWee Baseball National Championships, and is entering his second year as Director of Media Relations for Victoria Mavericks Baseball. At merely 18 years old, Mike becomes the youngest broadcaster in the ECHL.

The Salmon Kings battle the Bakersfield Condors at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in a three-game set January 19th, 20th, and 22nd.
