Augusta Lynx News Release

Augusta, GA - With just one game to concentrate on this week, the Augusta Lynx are prepared to face off against the Columbia Inferno Friday night at 7:05 pm in a road contest that marks the first of six straight games away from the James Brown Arena.

Currently holding an eight game home winning streak, the Lynx look to get back in the win column on the road against the Inferno, which is 5-10-2 at home in 2006-07.

Augusta will add forward Garrett Bembridge to the lineup in time for tomorrow's game as he returns from the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates, where he has three goals and five points in 15 games. Making room for Bembridge on the roster, the Lynx waived Ryan Petz and Marc Norrington this week as well.

In the five games played between the two clubs this year, the Inferno are 4-0-1, with Augusta's only win of the year back on October 27 in Columbia, a 2-1 Lynx shootout victory.

Owen Fussey leads the Inferno in scoring against Augusta this year with four goals and eight points, with teammates Jeff Miles (2-5-7) and Mike Jarmuth (3-4-7) right behind him in the season series. In net Todd Ford is 3-0-1 against Augusta with a 1.71 GAA and .950 save percentage.

"This stretch will help us heal up some of the bumps and bruises," said Lynx head coach Bob Ferguson about the team having just one game this week. "But with only one game to focus on this week you want to take advantage of getting points when you can."

Now at 20-18-0-0 after its latest run, the Lynx play Columbia Friday and again on Tuesday, followed by a four game northern swing to visit Trenton, Johnstown, Wheeling, and Dayton. Augusta's next home game will be Thursday, February 1 against the Florida Everblades.

Tickets are on sale now for all remaining Lynx home games through the team office at (706) 724-4CIE, via all TicketMaster locations and at www.TicketMaster.com. Seats are $11, $15, and$18, with discounts available for students, seniors, and military personnel.
