Stingrays Activate Werner

N. CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and head coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that right winger Stephen Werner has been activated off the injured reserve and will return to the line-up this weekend.

Werner, 22, returns to the line-up from the 7-day IR. The Chevy Chase, MD native was originally loaned to the Stingrays from their AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, on Dec. 6th. Before being placed on the IR, he played five games with the Rays scoring six points on four goals and two assists.

In other news, Cam McCaffrey has been placed on the 3-day injured reserve. McCaffrey, 23, has 13 points on the year with the Rays on eight goals and five assists and has 66 penalty minutes.

The Stingrays play at home this Saturday night when they take on the Columbia Inferno at 7:05 p.m. It's Pack the House Night when only $5 will get you a seat anywhere in the Coliseum. Parking is free, so come down to the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday night to watch your South Carolina Stingrays.
