Stockton Ports News Release
The Stockton Ports will head to San Jose this week to play a three game series against the division leading San Jose Giants. The Ports enter the series in third place, four games behind San Jose, and a game and a half behind the Modesto Nuts. The Ports avoided a series sweep, roasting the Nuts 14-9 in Sunday's series finale at Banner Island Ballpark. For the second time this year, Stockton went deep four times in a game. San Jose won two of three over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes over the weekend, but missed out on the sweep when Rancho scored a 5-2 victory Sunday afternoon behind Brandon Wood's two homeruns. Wood leads the California League with 15 long balls.
The Ports and Giants have split the season series 4-4 so far, and each team is 2-2 on their home field. San Jose has outscored the Ports 38-32.
