
Nuts Return to John Thurman Field

Modesto Nuts News Release
The Modesto Nuts completed their longest road trip of the season, playing 14 road games in 14 days. The Nuts finished the trip 9-5 and return to John Thurman Field in second place. Strong pitching and timely hitting proved to be the keys in this very successful road trip. The Nuts begin a three-game series with the Bakersfield Blaze on Monday, May 16th at 7:05 p.m. Come out to the ballpark as the Nuts set their sights on first place in the Northern Division. Don't forget about the series finale on Wednesday morning at 11:05 a.m. Schedule a lunch meeting at John Thurman Field and enjoy some daytime baseball.
At the Yard features Al and Wally
At the Yard magazine, the only publication solely dedicated to minor league baseball, has a feature on Al the Almond and Wally Walnut in the June issue. The article describes the process of the name change, logo creation and says,"the Nuts undoubtedly boast one of the most fun and unique logos in minor league baseball and two of the coolest new mascots." Weekend Full of Fireworks and Baseball
The first-place San Jose Giants make their first trip to John Thurman Field for a four-game, three-day series against the Nuts. Fireworks will follow Friday night's Noche de Beisbol game and Saturday's doubleheader.
