Blaze take Second Game of Series

Saturday night the Oaks began game to of the longest road trip of the season so far, nine games. After losing last night in game two by a score of 3-2 a game they lead 2-0 and let get away the would try to rebound. The Oaks sent out righty Jean Machi against right-hander Thomas Diamond.

Oaks once again got off to a good start scoring a run on a two out RBI single by Wes Bankston, his fourth RBI in just four games, as the Oaks took a 1-0 lead. The Blaze who trailed by one before they could come up to the plate answered right back though with two runs on some sloppy play by the Oaks which included, a balk, two errors, a wild pitch, a walk, and hit and the Blaze took a 2-1 lead.

The Blaze added another run in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-2 lead, and would break it open in the bottom of the eighth. They received a two-run homer by Travis Metcalf as part of a three-run inning and go on to win by that final of 6-1, taking the first two games of this three game series.

The Oaks look to avoid the sweep when they play game three the final game of the series on Sunday. Visalia will send righty Jeremy Flanagan to the mound who will be opposed by southpaw Ryan Wing for the Blaze.
