Stockton Kings Launch "209 Minutes" Volunteer Program to Recognize Holiday Heroes
November 19, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Stockton Kings News Release
Stockton, Calif. - In celebration of the NBA's Season of Giving, today the Stockton Kings - the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings - announced "209 Minutes", a community program to help local nonprofits get the volunteer assistance they need during the busy holiday season. Through this new program, the Stockton Kings will incentivize volunteers to donate their time during the holiday season.
From Tuesday, November 19 until Wednesday, December 25, fans can volunteer at one of five local nonprofits for 209 Minutes (3.5 hours) at a time and place that best match their individual schedules. Those who volunteer for 209 minutes will receive a VIP experience during the Stockton Kings game on Friday, January 17 vs. the Oklahoma City Blue, which will include a pregame dinner with Head Coach Ty Ellis and on-court recognition as the "209 Holiday Heroes".
"We are eager to help several nonprofits that do essential work for the youth in our community by asking our passionate fans to help volunteer during this holiday season," said Stockton Kings Vice President of Business Operations Dustin Toms. "This new program will provide a rewarding way to encourage members of the community to pay it forward to such deserving organizations, and in turn give those fans an incredible experience at one of our games."
"It's all hands on deck this time of year," said Founder of The Table Community Foundation Tyronne Gross Jr. "We couldn't be more excited to know that the Stockton Kings are launching their volunteer program. Together we can bring joy to even more families and make a positive impact on our community."
Fans can volunteer at any of the following five nonprofits:
Children's Museum of Stockton
Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin
Lord's Gym City Center
The One Eighty
The Table Community Foundation
