WILMINGTON - NOV. 19, 2019 - The Delaware Blue Coats (2-3), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, fell to the Capital City Go-Go (3-2), 125-105, on Tuesday night at 76ers Fieldhouse. In his second game of the season for the Blue Coats, 76ers two-way contract player Norvel Pelle recorded a double-double with 18 points (6-11 fg, 3-4 ft), 14 rebounds and six blocked shots in 26 minutes of action.
Xavier Munford totaled 16 points (5-14 fg, 1-5 3fg, 2-2 ft), six rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes for Delaware, while 76ers assignment player Zhaire Smith scored 15 points (7-10 fg, 1-3 3fg) and added a pair of boards in 32 minutes for the home team. 76ers two-way contract player Marial Shayok added 13 points (6-16 fg, 1-5 3fg), three rebounds and an assist in 27 minutes of work.
The Blue Coats, which trailed 67-52 at halftime, outrebounded Capital City 54-40, but committed 27 turnovers in the loss.
Jalen Jones scored 17 of his game-high 21 points (7-16 fg, 1-5 3fg, 3-5 ft) in the first half for the Go-Go. Jones added seven rebounds and three steals in 28 minutes overall. Starting guards Justin Robinson and Chris Chiozza nabbed four steals apiece for the visitors, which finished with 14 steals as a team. Robinson, on assignment from the Washington Wizards, tallied 19 points (6-16 fg, 4-5 ft), four rebounds and eight assists in 28 minutes. Jalen Hudson provided a spark off the Capital City bench with 19 points (5-8 fg, 2-4 3fg, 4-4 ft) and seven rebounds in 23 minutes as a reserve.
Next up for the Blue Coats is a Thursday night meeting on the road against the College Park Skyhawks, the G League's newest franchise. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at the Gateway Center Arena and will mark College Park's first-ever home game.
