November 19, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Last Week Real Monarchs SLC won its first United Soccer League Championship, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers advanced to the 107th CFL Grey Cup, and National Women's Soccer League MVP Sam Kerr of the Chicago Red Stars announced she will not return to the league in order to pursue a playing opportunity in Europe. Highlights from this week are from United Soccer League Championship, the Canadian Football League, American Hockey League, Western Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and NBA G League.
United Soccer League Championship
Real Monarchs SLC went on the road to secure a third-consecutive comeback win in the USL Championship Playoffs, topping the two-time defending champions, Louisville City FC, 3-1 to win the USL Championship title in front of a sold out crown of 7,025 at Lynn Stadium on the University of Louisville campus.
Here are the highlights:
Queensboro FC (QBFC) has been awarded a United Soccer League (USL) franchise, establishing a professional men's soccer team in Queens, New York. The club will kick off in 2021 and play in the USL Championship, the top tier of the USL.
Hartford Athletic announced that Radhi Jaidi has been named head coach as the Club prepares for its second USL Championship season, subject to the completion of relevant documentation. Jaidi comes from Southampton Football Club of the Premier League where he served as head coach of the Under-23 Club.
San Diego Loyal Soccer Club announced highly acclaimed former U.S. soccer player Landon Donovan will lead in the role of Manager effective immediately. Donovan will lead in dual duties as both Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations and Manager.
Major League Soccer
The San Jose Earthquakes announced that the club has signed 14-year-old goalkeeper Emmanuel 'Emi' Ochoa to a Homegrown Player contract. At 14 years and 191 days, Ochoa is the second youngest player to ever sign a professional contract in Major League Soccer (Freddy Adu - 14 years, 168 days) and is the youngest to sign a Homegrown Player contract.
National Women's Soccer League
Sam Kerr has informed the Chicago Red Stars she will not return to the team for the upcoming 2020 National Women's Soccer League season in order to pursue a playing opportunity in Europe.
The Washington Spirit are proud to announce that the club will be playing games at Audi Field, Segra Field and the Maryland SoccerPlex in 2020. The Spirit's games will be evenly split between the venues, with four games being played at each location.

Canadian Football League
Hamilton and Winnipeg are set to compete in the 107th Grey Cup. The championship game in Calgary on November 24 will mark the ninth time in the history of Canadian Football that the modern-day incarnations of the two clubs have played for the iconic trophy after having met in 1953, 1957-59, 1961-62, 1965 and 1984.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers defense had a goal line stand that helped them win the game against Saskatchewan Roughriders.

National Women's Hockey League
The National Women's Hockey League announced that it has closed a new round of equity funding that ensures viability and continued growth for the league for many years to come. The financing, which came as a result of substantial progress for the NWHL and a strong start to the league's fifth season, was led by insurance and IT entrepreneur Andy Scurto, the founder and former President of San Jose-based insurance software firm ISCS. Scurto, who sold ISCS in 2017, now joins a group of more than 20 NWHL investors.

International League
Baseball America released the top 15 most accomplished Minor League franchises of the 2010s. The Durham Bulls topped the list factored by wins, league titles, runner-up finishes and having the best overall record in one's league.
Pacific Coast League
In 2020, after a 12-season absence, Minor League Baseball is returning to Kansas' largest city. The team has a name: the Wichita Wind Surge -- Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins -- relocated from New Orleans, where they had been known as the Baby Cakes.
Midwest League
Former Detroit Tigers catcher Brayan Peña has been named the 14th manager in West Michigan Whitecaps history, in a move announced in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers.
OTHER SPORTS
National Pro Fastpitch
National Pro Fastpitch announced the addition of a new affiliate team that will enter regular season competition with the league in 2020. The California Softball Commotion (CSC) will give the league a west coast presence for the first time since 2005.
