WATCH PARTIES/MEET AND GREET AT KING STREET GRILLE-NORTHWOODS:

King Street Grille-Northwoods has become the Watch Party Destination for Stingrays road games during the 2015-2016 season, including all road games during the Stingrays upcoming trip. Fans 21 and up may enjoy a special offer of $3 Drafts, including Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Shocktop and Landshark during all Stingrays Watch Parties at King Street Grille. Additionally, King Street Grills hosts Meet and Greets after select home games. Our next Meet and Greet is THIS SUNDAY featuring appearances from Mark Dekanich, Andrew Rowe, Brendan Ellis, Marcus Perrier, Wade Epp, Andrew Johnston and Stephan Vigier. (Played subject to change)

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS:

January 8: South Carolina at Adirondack, 5-1 Win

The South Carolina Stingrays charged out of the gate Friday night to earn a 5-1 victory over the Adirondack Thunder at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Colin Mulvey had a pair of goals, Mark Dekanich stopped 30 shots and Trevor Gillies fought for the first time as a member of the Stingrays in the win.

January 9: South Carolina at Adirondack, 4-2 Loss

The Adirondack Thunder scored three goals in the second period to earn an 4-2 victory and split a weekend series with the South Carolina Stingrays. The Thunder outshot the Stingrays 20-7 in the game's middle frame and bounced back after a 5-1 loss to South Carolina the night prior.

January 10: South Carolina at Reading, 3-1 Loss

A pair of power play goals in the second period propelled the Reading Royals to a 3-1 victory over the South Carolina Stingrays on Sunday afternoon at the Santander Arena. Colin Mulvey had the lone goal for the Stingrays who dropped their second straight game in as many days.

RARE VISIT FROM ACES

This weekend is only the third and fourth matchup between the Alaska Aces and South Carolina Stingrays in regular season play since the Aces joined the ECHL in 2003. South Carolina beat Alaska 4-1 at the North Charleston Coliseum on March 16, 2004 and 4-3 in a shootout on March 19, 2004 in the only two matchups in the regular season between the two clubs. The last time the Aces and Stingrays met outside of the regular season was during the 2009 Kelly Cup Finals. South Carolina won the series, 4-3, to claim the organization's third Kelly Cup. South Carolina Head Coach Spencer Carbery was a player on the Stingrays 2009 Championship Team.

MIGHTY MULVEY

Forward Colin Mulvey has been on a tear of late for South Carolina and now leads the team with 11 goals. Mulvey, who started the season in and out of the lineup, has five goals in his last four games. He scored a pair of goals in the Stingrays 4-2 loss to Cincinnati on January 3, and also notched two goals in South Carolina's 5-1 win at Adirondack this past Friday.

STAAL HITS 300

Forward Jared Staal skated in his 300th professional game on Sunday in a 3-1 loss to Reading. The forward has three goals in his last eight games, and has skated in 232 AHL games, 66 ECHL games and 2 NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes. In those contests, Staal played with his brothers, Eric and Jordan.

Notes: The Caps are the top team in the NHL and are led by sniper Alex Ovechkin who just scored his 500th NHL goal Sunday.

Hershey Bears (19-13-1-5, 3rd Atlantic Division, 5th Eastern Conference,)

Notes: Defenseman Joey Leach, who has spent the majority of the season in South Carolina, was recalled to Hershey last week.
