Forward Robbie Czarnik Loaned to San Diego

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that forward Robbie Czarnik has been loaned to the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, defenseman Christian Marti has been recalled by the Flyers and reassigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL.

This is the second stint in the AHL this year for Czarnik, a fifth year pro from Detroit, Michigan. He was loaned to the Providence Bruins on December 29, played two games (0g-0a=0pts, 6 pims) with the P-Bruins, and was returned to Reading on Friday. In thirty-two games with the Royals, Czarnik has scored a team-leading sixteen goals and assisted on thirteen others (twenty-nine points). Marti, who is playing his first season of North American pro, was assigned to Reading on Friday. He played two games for the Royals without registering any points or penalty minutes.

The Royals return to action on Friday (January 15 @ 7:05 pm) when the team travels to First Arena in Elmira, New York to face the Elmira Jackals for the ninth time this season. Friday night's matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:35 pm Eastern Time. As with all road games for the Royals, Friday's game will be televised locally in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel and Apple Vacations. Streaming audio is available free of charge on the Royals' website (follow the 'headset' icon); and streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV.
