
Stingrays Sign New York Yankees Prospect; Charleston RiverDog

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that forward Justin Milo has signed with the team. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Milo, 23, joins the Stingrays after appearing in two games with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL scoring one assist. Currently in his first professional season, the Edina, MN native spent the past two years at the University of Vermont alongside current Stingrays defenseman Patrick Cullity netting 47 points (21g, 26a) in 59 games. Before attending UVM, Milo spent his freshman season at Cornell University lighting the lamp three times and added an assist for four points in 24 games.
In addition to hockey, Milo has displayed great talent on the baseball diamond. Drafted in the 37th round of the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft by the New York Yankees, the 5-foot-8, 180-pound left fielder dressed in 16 games with Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League last season, batting .231 scoring eight runs and four RBI. During the 2009 campaign, Milo split time with the Staten Island Yankees (New York-Pennsylvania League) and the GCL Yankees (Gulf Coast League) competing in 32 games hitting .256 with six doubles, two home runs and 15 RBI.
