ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers, 2-1, in a shootout before 5,085 fans on Saturday. Kellen Briggs made 36 saves and allowed only one shootout goal to spearhead the Reign win.

Las Vegas established a 1-0 lead on Tyler Mosienko's first goal of the season. Both teams collapsed on the crease after a loose puck and Mosienko tapped it through the mass of skates and across the goal line.

Jordan Morrison scored the equalizer just nine seconds into a two-man advantage at 2:37 of the second period. With his team already down a man, Las Vegas goaltender Michael Ouzas, drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Two zip-passes from David Walker and Jeff Corey found Morrison all alone in front and he one-timed the puck into a wide-open cage.

The 1-1 score stuck through regulation and overtime, sending the game into a shootout. Mosienko put one by Briggs in the third round to give Las Vegas the advantage, but Dusty Collins responded with a goal in the fourth round and Shawn Collymore got the crowd roaring with the game-winning goal in the fifth round.

Briggs allowed only one goal for the second straight game for the win, Ouzas saved 31 in the loss.
