Bakersfield, Calif. - The Utah Grizzlies (10-4-2-1, 23pts) took down the Bakersfield Condors (7-9-1-0, 15pts) in front of 8,327 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday on Teddy Bear Toss Night. It was the largest crowd of the year, and the tenth largest in Condors history.

The Condors launched a heavy attack in the first period, putting 15 pucks on G J.P. Lamoureux, but couldn't break through the Grizzlies netminder. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies struck for two goals on six shots, the first on a sharp-angle drive from the left corner by D Brock Wilson at the 7:47 mark. Less than four minutes later, C Marcus Carroll slid a shot just inside the left post to give Utah a 2-0 lead after the first period.

Utah added to their lead with a power play goal at the 12:28 mark of the second period. F Brent Gauvreau dished a pass to C Tyler Ruegsegger, and he buried it in the top left corner for the 3-0 lead after two periods of play.

The fans got a chance to launch their bears when F Slava Trukhno finally solved Lamoureux. Trukhno received a pass from RW Stephane Goulet and snapped a shot into the upper corner of the net. D J.F. David put the Condors within one when he struck on the power play with just 18 second left in the game, but Utah was able to stave off the final flurry to take the 3-2 victory.
