Stingrays Receive Reid From Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that forward Darren Reid has been sent to the team from the Hershey Bears of the AHL.
Reid, 26, comes to the Stingrays after competing in 21 games for the Bears this season scoring six goals and two assist for eight points. The Lac La Biche, AB native also appeared in one game this season with the Reading Royals netting two assists.
A 2002 eighth-round NHL draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Reid has 21 games of NHL experience with the Lightning and Philadelphia Flyers registering one point (1a) and has played in 259 AHL games with Hershey, Philadelphia and Springfield recording 44 goals and 60 assists for 104 points. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound right-winger won the Calder Cup with the Bears last season skating in seven Calder Cup Playoff games tallying three goals.
