Blast From the Past

In the 1996-1997 season the South Carolina Stingrays became the first team in ECHL history to win the Brabham Cup (awarded to the team with the best record in the regular season) and the Kelly Cup (awarded to the ECHL Champion). That feat has been matched only once. In 2005-2006 the Alaska Aces became only the second team to win both trophies. This years Brabham Cup winner is the Cincinnati Cyclones. They play the Johnstown Chiefs in a best of seven series in the first round of the Northern Division playoffs starting tonight.
