Inferno Earn 3-1 Win in Game Two Against Florida

ESTERO, FL. (April 11, 2007) - The Columbia Inferno notched a 3-1 win against the Florida Everblades as they take a 2-0 lead in the South Division Quarterfinals.

Kirk MacDonald opened the scoring for Florida at 11:08 of the first period which would become the only goal for the Everblades.

Tyler Doig scored his first goal of the post season from Joel Hanson and Brad Ralph at 15:13 of the second period. Daniel Sparre added a power play goal and the game winner for the 2-1 lead with assists to Steve McJannet and Patrick Wellar at 17:33.

The Inferno continued to play a solid defensive game when the Everblades pulled their goalie with 1:13 left on the clock. Mac Faulkner scored the empty net goal with two seconds left to seal the win for Columbia .

Todd Ford earned his second post season win stopping 36 of 37 shots on goal. The Inferno had 21 shots on goal. Columbia went 1-for-1 on the power play and 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.

Both teams will meet for game three in Columbia on Saturday, April 12 at 7:05pm. Tickets are available starting at 5pm at the Carolina Coliseum Box Office on Greene Street.
