
Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Wrap up Busy Weekend against Elmira Today

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays close a three-game in three-day weekend today against the Elmira Jackals at 4:05 at First Arena in Elmira, New York. Today is the third of four regular-season meetings between the two teams this season.
Series at a Glance:
The Stingrays met the Jackals for the first time this season on New Year's Eve, taking down the Atlantic-Division foe 2-0 at the North Charleston Coliseum. Former Stingrays forward Steve Mele and current defenseman Zach Currie provided the scoring and netminder Jeff Jakaitis stopped all 38 Jackals shots. Defenseman Derrick Pallis recorded two assists. Last night, the Stingrays improved to a 2-0-0-0 head-to-head record against the Jackals behind a 2-1 shootout victory at First Arena. Forward Nick Larson netted the game-tying goal midway through the first period and registered the game-winning shootout tally in the sixth round. All time, the Stingrays are 12-6-0 against the Jackals.
Count on Boyd:
Stingrays leading scorer Peter Boyd has two goals and five assists in his last five contests and is currently tied for 8th in the ECHL with 49 points (19 goals, 30 assists).
Keep on Rolling:
Today is the third game of a season-long six-game road trip for the Stingrays. The team jumps to the Midwest to visit the Toledo Walleye in Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday, March 5 at 7:15 p.m. at the Huntington Center and move over to Kalamazoo, Michigan to take on the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Wings Stadium. The trip closes on Friday, March 14 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at The Arena at Gwinnett Center at 7:05 p.m. in Duluth, Georgia.

The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday, March 15 to celebrate Lowcountry Food Bank Night against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. Friday, March 21 is Family Four Pack Friday with the Stingrays! Grab four tickets, four hotdogs, four sodas and large popcorn for $55 at the Coliseum Box Office and watch the Stingrays battle the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. at the Coliseum. College and military tickets are $5 at the Box Office with proper ID!
