South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, S.C. - Forwards Derek DeBlois and Andrew Rowe each scored a goal and an assist to send the South Carolina Stingrays' (28-18-1-6) season-high winning streak to 10 games with a 3-2 win over the Greenville Road Warriors (28-21-1-2) at the North Charleston Coliseum Sunday afternoon.
DeBlois broke the scoreless tie at 13:52 of the second period on the power play and extended his personal point streak to six contests batting a pass from forward Rob Ricci out of the air and past Road Warriors netminder Braely Torris (L, 21 saves on 24 shots). Forwards Rob Ricci and Rowe added assists. The Road Warriors tied the contest late in the frame when forward Scott Arnold slipped a shot between the legs of Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis (W, 28 saves on 30 shots) off the right-wing circle.
Road Warriors forward Michael St. Croix made it 2-1 early in the third period knocking a rebound past Jakaitis off a drive from defenseman Mike Banwell at 1:15. The Stingrays responded moments later when Rowe deflected in a centering pass from DeBlois on top of the crease at 5:30. Defenseman Lee Moffie buried the game-winning tally for the Stingrays at 12:29 rifling a shot from the left-wing circle over the glove of Torris. The Stingrays finished the game 1-for-5 on the power play while the Road Warriors went 0-for-3.
