
K-Wings Add Kivisto as Face-Off Approaches

KALAMAZOO- Decimated with injuries heading into today's final game of a four-game home stand, the Kalamazoo Wings have turned to a familiar face to lend a hand with the signing of defenseman John Kivisto.
A four-year pro, Kivisto has played at least part of each season with the K-Wings. Kivisto's most productive season with the K-Wings was back in 2011-12, when he earned eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) and had a plus/minus rating of +12 in 21 games for Kalamazoo.
A four-year standout at Michigan Tech, Kivisto brings his defensive and physical presence to Kalamazoo. The native of Brighton, Michigan lead his Michigan Tech team in penalty minutes his senior year. Also, as a member of the Michigan Tech team, Kivisto lead his team on a campaign against Euro Elite League teams. Kivisto finished the tournament against the European competition as MVP.
The K-Wings will conclude a four-game home stand this afternoon, Sunday, February 22nd with a 3 p.m. faceoff versus the Wheeling Nailers during Family Hockey Day in the 'ZOO. The first 500 kids (ages 12 and under) will eat FREE and receive either a Princess Tiara or a Pirate's Hat and Eye Patch. Today will be Princesses, Pirates and Knights Day. A Snow Princess and Rapunzel will be interacting with children during pregame and the first period. Family's can also make their experience special by visiting the face-painters and taking a snap shot at the FREE photo booth. Following the game the K-Wings will host a post game skate with the players, presented by United Healthcare (skate rental if needed is $3).
Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan.
