
Sting Represented in CIS Awards & University Cup

Sarnia Sting News Release
Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League is proud to announce that five recipients of Canadian Interuniversity Sport All-Canadian Awards, 75% of the All-Canadian Teams, and 100% of the CIS All-Rookie Team for the 2014-15 season are CHL graduates.
In addition, 166 CHL graduates are competing on the eight teams in contention for the 2015 University Cup Championship representing over 78% of all players in the tournament. Â
The 2015 University Cup features the host St. Francis Xavier X-Men, the top ranked Canada West and defending CIS champion Alberta Golden Bears, Canada West finalist Calgary Dinos, AUS champion University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds, AUS finalist Acadia Axemen, OUA champion Guelph Gryphons, finalist UQTR Patriotes, and bronze medalist Windsor Lancers.Â
University Cup Quarter-Final games begin today in Halifax while the tournament concludes on Sunday, March 15. All tournament games will be webcast at www.CIS-SIC.tv. Saturday will see Semi-Final action at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (ET) broadcast on Sportsnet 360 while Sunday's Championship Final can be seen at 5:30 p.m. (ET) on Sportsnet 360.Â
CHL graduates are able to compete in CIS hockey programs and receive their education paid for by taking advantage of the Scholarship Programs throughout the CHL which are funded by the member clubs of the Western Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League, and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.Â
