Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON)- The Peterborough Petes are excited to announce the results of the third annual Saves 4 CF game on Thursday, March 5, 2015 against the London Knights. In total, the Peterborough Cystic Fibrosis Canada chapter raised over $2,000 to help battle the fatal disease.

The money was raised through a boot fundraiser by the Fleming College Fire Rescue Program, a silent auction, chuck-a-puck featuring a Petes bench designed and built by Eric Cornel and other Petes players, and general donations throughout the game and during a post-game goalie autograph session.

Former Petes goalie Andrew D'Agostini participated in the ceremonial puck drop along with Peterborough starter Matt Mancina and London starter (and Petes alumnus) Michael Giugovaz. Joining the goalies at centre ice was Michael Allman from GM Financial, a proud supporter of Saves 4 CF, Ryan Anderson from the Fleming Fire Rescue Program, Candace McGuigan from the Peterborough Cystic Fibrosis Chapter, and her daughter Ashlynne, a six year old fighting CF.

In addition, GM Financial has donated $2,077 to Cystic Fibrosis Canada through the Saves 4 CF program, or $1 for every save made by Petes goalies this year.
