Belleville Bulls News Release

KINGSTON, ON - The Belleville Bulls open up a three game weekend in the Limestone city as they take on their East Division rivals for the final time this season. The Bulls are coming off back-to-back losses last weekend, most recently getting shutout 3-0 by the Sudbury Wolves. The Fronts, however, will be looking to add their fifth straight win. Puck drop from the Rogers K-Rock Centre is set for 7:00pm.

Kingston opened up the scoring early and took advantage of a four goal third period as they defeated the Petes 6-2 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Tuesday night. Goal scorers for the Fronts were Evan McEneny, Sam Bennett, Spencer Watson, Samuel Schutt and Lawson Crouse (2). Netminder Lucas Peressini had a failry quiet night as he only faced 20 shots.

Since his return to the OHL, Bennett has made a big impact in the scoring department potting 6 goals and handing out 9 assists in just 7 games played. 1997-born winger Crouse has also been a key contributor offensively as he has netted 27 goals and picked up 18 assists in 51 games played. Goaltender Peressini continues to be one of the best between the pipes, owning a .921 save percentage.

Last weekend the Bulls travelled North for back-to-back games against the North Bay Battalion and the Sudbury Wolves. Sudbury scored in each period and the Bulls had no answer as they suffered their second straight loss at the Sudbury Community Arena. Toronto native Charlie Graham made 22 saves in the loss.

Vancouver Canucks prospect Jordan Subban leads the team with 24 goals and 23 assists in 58 games played. Over age left-winger Brett Gustavsen has pitched in with 18 goals and 19 helpers in 61 games played. Graham has a .914 save percentage and a 3.21 goals against average. Rookie Connor Hicks is expected to start tonight in Kingston.

The Bulls are just one point ahead of the eight place Petes and four points out of an Eastern Conference playoff birth. They will continue their busy three game weekend as they host the Ottawa 67's on Saturday night at 7:05pm and the North Bay Battalion on Sunday afternoon at 4:05pm.
