Grimes to start area's 1st AAA Defensemen's Camp

April 16, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Belleville Bulls News Release

Jake Grimes has announced that he will be using his 11 years of experience coaching defensemen at the OHL level to begin the area's 1st defensemen specific training camp.

"I look at what has happened in the goaltending position and how specific and specialized it has become...I feel the same way about the position of defense. I believe that defensemen are a crucial part of every team and therefore also deserve detailed, specialized training."

"There are only 6 defensemen on each team and they are largely responsible for the forwards' success and the goaltender's success...they are crucial."

My camp will cover:

Defenseman specific skating and mobility

All manpower situations (even/odd)

Breaking out and countering

Defensive zone play

Net front play

Offensive play (rushing, shooting, passing)

Special teams play (PP/PK)

Face off reaction (win/loss all 3 zones)
