Bakersfield Condors News Release

Boise, Idaho – Jeremy Mylymok's goal with just 1:25 remaining in regulation tied the game and led to the Idaho Steelheads recording a 4-3 shootout victory over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 3,268 fans at the Bank of America Centre in Idaho on Tuesday night.

Despite the fact that the Condors and Steelheads ranked 31st and 25th, respectively, in penalty minutes coming into the game, both teams were penalized heavily in the first period. Idaho had five power plays and the Condors had three, while the only goal of the first frame came while Bakersfield was shorthanded. Darrell Hay blasted home his first of the season for the 1-0 advantage.

The second period saw much of the same, as Idaho continued with the power plays. It was on their seventh power play of the game that they added their second goal of the game. Just moments after Dylan Gyori made it 2-0, Paul Kelly earned and ejection by heaving several random items from the Condors bench onto the B of A Centre ice. After a long delay to clean things up, the killing off of the ensuing penalty and just over six minutes, Bakersfield added a tally of their own. Vince Malts closed off a nice set of passes to make it 2-1. Kevin Riehl and Ivan Prokic assisted on the goal.

In the third, just seconds into a five-minute major power play for Idaho, Jason Ralph broke up a play and came in on a breakaway, burying the shot for the tying score, 2-2. Bakersfield wasn't done. Jason Jackman banged in a centering feed from Paul Rosebush to give the Condors a 3-2 lead with just 2:56 to play. Idaho pulled their goaltender just a minute later, and tied the game on a bouncing shot by Mylymok.

In the shootout, only Daniel Karlsson was successful for Bakersfield, while Hirsch stopped two of four, and the Condors suffered the shootout loss.

The Condors stay in Idaho for Wednesday's rematch. Game time is 6:05pm Pacific Time, and can be heard live on KGEO AM 1230, and online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com. The Condors head to Long Beach this Saturday and Las Vegas next Friday as the team remains on their four-game road trip.

They return home on Saturday, November 8th when Alaska comes into town. That game features a Veteran's Day Jersey Raffle and Auction, sponsored by KUZZ 107.9, and the proceeds benefit MDA.

Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location.
