Generals Sign Bonni
October 28, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greensboro Generals News Release
Greensboro, NC âThe Greensboro Generals have added the services of 24-year-old defensemen Ryan Bonni (pronounced BON-ee), head coach/general manager Rick Adduono announced today.
Bonni (6-4, 200) becomes the second player on the Generals current roster that has prior experience in the National Hockey League, the other being netminder Daniel Berthiaume (Ottawa Senators). As a rookie in the 1999-00 season, Bonni appeared in three games with the Vancouver Canucks, however he did not register any points. Most recently, in 2002-03, he played with St. John's of the American Hockey League, appearing in 61 games, registering one goal, eight assists, and nine points.
"Our defense last week was really good, but we feel with the addition of Ryan Bonni, someone that has played at the next level in both the AHL and the NHL, it just further strengthens our defense," Adduono said of his newest signee.
The Generals will return to home ice on Thursday, October 30th at 7:00 PM for another R.H. Barringer sponsored Thirsty Thursday, with the Coliseum offering draft beer for $1.00. The following night, October 31st, the Generals host a Halloween Bash when they face the Atlantic City in the first meeting since last season's playoffs. On the 31st, all kids (ages 2-12) who come to the game in a Halloween costume receive free admission.
Individual tickets for all Greensboro Generals 2003-04 home games are on sale now. Tickets may be purchased at the Coliseum advance box office, all participating Triad area Lowes Foods locations, on-line at www.tickets.com and by calling toll free (888) 397-3100.
